“The Coach House was one of the best holiday apartments that we have stayed in!”

Set in beautiful countryside, the property is superb. So much thought has been given to everything within the property. The bed linen and towels were of an exceptional quality and all fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The bed was extremely comfy and the two en-suites were delightful (again very clean and of a high standard). The cleanliness was superb with a lot of attention to detail. Kitchen had an abundance of equipment. There is emergency lighting which I know some people from ...

The bed was extremely comfy and the two en-suites were delightful (again very clean and of a high standard). The cleanliness was superb with a lot of attention to detail. Kitchen had an abundance of equipment. There is emergency lighting which I know some people from the reviews found it a bit annoying to have the green light at night in the bedroom, but for us it didn’t affect the quality of our sleep whatsoever and it is there following the latest regulations. We can highly recommend The Lion at Leintwardine for superb food and ambience. There is nothing to fault whatsoever in the property and we will definitely be returning.

Downton is referred to in the Domesday Book. The River Teme cuts through the Downton Gorge, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation, and where over 10% of the country's iron was formerly produced. Built on the profits of iron, nearby Downton Castle is a privately owned, Grade I-listed, 18th-century country house. Visit the award-winning Ludlow Farshop at Bromfield and enjoy a refreshment break at Ludlow Kitchen before taking a tour of Ludlow Distillery, the home of Ludlow Gin and Whisky. Next door is Ludlow Racecourse and for keen golfers, Ludlow Golf Club which is open to non-members. Enjoy a scenic area of Herefordshire with a trip to Downton.
