“A lovely barn conversion in a peaceful setting.”

A very comfortable bed, slept well every night. Sofa could perhaps be more comfortable but not a big problem. We could find everything we needed except a pint glass! We found it to be in an ideal position for exploring the area, with most places of interest within about an hours drive. We would definitely recommend this property.

First of all thank you for your kind feedback above and in our visitor's book - we are glad you had an enjoyable stay and we hope to see you back at The Barn one of these days. Helpful suggestions are always welcome, so we have already added a couple of pint glasses and a beer tankard to the kitchen inventory. Point noted about the OKA sofa, so at the very least we will review the cushion count. We also appreciate your positive recommendation for future guests. Property Owner

About the location

TISBURY, NEAR BATH

Shaftesbury 12 miles; Salisbury 15 miles.

An interesting, lively village on the Wiltshire/Dorset border, well served by a good selection of inns, shops, a library, a bank, a garage and with a regular rail link to both London and Exeter. The village is set in the valley of the River Nadder, a good fishing river which gently meanders its way down to Salisbury and where herons, grey wagtails and even kingfishers may be seen - a bird watcher’s paradise! Along the valley, the lush green countryside provides superb rural walks and cycling. Full of history, the nearby mill predates even the Domesday Book. A visit to the local churchyard reveals a famous 1,000 year old yew tree and also the graves of Rudyard Kipling's parents, who lived here. The village serves as a great year round base for exploring this interesting area. Within a short drive are Wilton House, Shaftesbury, Old Wardour Castle, Stourhead, Stonehenge (which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury.

Note: Low ceilings in the bathroom, so please be cautious.
Note: Fairly narrow staircase, so unsuitable for people with limited mobility
Note: Adults only property (18+).
