“We had a great time, thank you.”

Tor cottage has a lovely feel to it and a great location. Our only ( very minor) niggle was with the seating in the lounge area, the two small chairs were not very comfortable. After long days out walking, we noticed this even more. Otherwise, perfect! Thank you

The property

Tor Cottage is a charming, detached property, blessed by stunning westerly countryside views, including the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) in the distance on clear sunny days.

Set in a secluded spot in Upper Colwall, in the famous Malvern Hills, this well-kept 1929 house is the ideal place for a peaceful, family holiday.

Tor Cottage is off the beaten track and benefits from a large garden, within proximity to excellent walking in the hills and a warm welcoming home, with rustic charm and contemporary aesthetics.

Be welcomed into the property's open-plan living space where you can spend your evenings relaxing after adventure-filled days; prepare delicious meals in the kitchen area where a large gas range cooker sits alongside a good range of appliances, come together around the dining table with the patio doors opened up in summer to let in the breeze, and a brightly lit sitting area with an open fire for the cooler winter months.

Set up the projector via your laptop to watch a family favourite film, or on warm evenings, enjoy a drink out on the patio, before starting the gas barbecue and lighting up the chiminea.

The rest of the garden is made up of sloping lawns with a pretty stream running through it, surrounded by woodland and trees.

Head upstairs to find three bedrooms, choose from either of the two double bedrooms or the single bedroom, with more stunning views in the former two and all enjoying bright white walls and rustic wooden floorboards, served by the family bathroom which has a bath and shower over.

At the back of the house, in the heart of the garden, sits the studio annex, another bedroom with an ensuite bathroom; there you can enjoy a restful night of sleep and wake up surrounded by nature and more stunning views.

About the location

COLWALL, HEREFORDSHIRE

Worcester 11.9 miles; Hereford 18.9 miles

The large village of Colwall nestles within the westerly folds of the Malvern Hills AONB, bordering Worcestershire and split into three areas known as Colwall Stone, Colwall Green and Upper Colwall. One of the main features of this delightful village is the view of British Camp, which is an Iron Age hill fort positioned at the top of Herefordshire Beacon, a protected, ancient monument maintained by the Malvern Hills Conservators. Colwall Stone boasts a series of local shops, a specialist garden centre and village hall, while all three areas of the village are littered with public houses for you to enjoy a refreshing pint after a long walk over the hills. The many other outdoor activities available nearby include cycling, horse riding and fishing, not to mention hang gliding and paragliding for those seeking a thrill, as well as rock climbing locations in the area. The spa town of Malvern is nearby and offers a charming shopping location with its beautiful, hillside setting and a lovely mix of food, fashion and furniture stores. There are also a selection of pubs and eateries to choose from and a number of National Trust properties, gardens and vineyards within easy reach. Malvern Theatres has an extensive programme throughout the year with productions from the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company, including musicals and dance, to world-renowned musicians and orchestra. Worcester and Hereford are within easy driving distance with many more attractions to enjoy, as are Tewkesbury and the Wye Valley, offering something for everyone.
