    “On arrival workman in the house replacing glass in fire (that’s good ) not so good plaster falling off the wall which was immediately reported to Sykes .”

    No logs in basket as advertised but workman went got some xon further inspection no shelf in fridge . Huge cobwebs in snug window kitchen windows need cleaning .no bulbs in bedroom lamps also no lights working upstairs landing erea (reported ) bathroom bin not emptied .stains on rattan carpet under kitchen table .kitchen bins need replacing as all broke ..no dressing table in one bedroom nowhere to put your bits bobs on .no wardrobe in one bedroom .no shelf in bathroom also no mirrors in ...

The property

High Ridge is a stunning Cotswold stone property located in the quintessential English village of Milton-under-Wychwood.

The village benefits from a local supermarket, a library and well-regarded local pub, The Hare, as well as a pretty village green and play park for children.

Milton-under-Wychwood is also ideally situated for exploring the many other lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds region, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford, the latter being a picturesque medieval town in the Windrush Valley.

Further afield places such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach. The owners have lovingly refurbished this traditional Cotswold stone cottage in a bright and contemporary style, boasting spacious bedrooms and two reception rooms.

Character features such as exposed Cotswold stone walls, wooden beams and a cosy wood-burning stove are complemented by modern facilities including wireless internet access, three Smart TVs and a beautifully presented kitchen with underfloor heating. The property sleeps eight guests, in four well presented bedrooms, with two stylish bathrooms, an attractive garden and off-street parking for one car within the garden.

High Ridge is located in the heart of the charming village of Milton-under-Wychwood.

The front door opens directly into a well presented snug, off which are the following rooms: Living room: A bright room with an exposed Cotswold stone wall, wooden beams and a Cotswold stone fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove.

This immaculately presented room has two sofas, a Smart TV, a wooden coffee table and a TV console; Kitchen/dining room: This stylish open plan space has bi-fold doors that connect the beautiful landscaped garden to the house and contains an integrated electric oven with microwave, an island with a five-ring induction hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a tumble dryer, plus other useful amenities including a dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine and a toaster.

The island has a breakfast bar with seating for four and the large wooden dining table can comfortably seat eight guests, plus a Bose sound dock; Snug: This cosy room has an exposed Cotswold stone wall, wooden beams and wooden flooring, plus two comfy armchairs, a Bose sound dock and a Cotswold stone fireplace filled with decorative logs. Stairs with a rope bannister lead up from the snug to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 2: A spacious and well presented room which overlooks the pretty lane below.

This room contains a king size bed, wooden chair and a built-in wardrobe; Bedroom 3: Another lovely room located at the front of the property which contains either two single beds or a super king size bed, and a chest of drawers; Bedroom 4: This tastefully decorated room overlooks the back garden and contains a king size bed, Smart TV with a DVD player and a chest of drawers; Family bathroom: A smart room which contains a freestanding bath with a handheld shower attachment, walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Further steep stairs with a rope bannister lead up from the first floor landing to a generous landing area with two armchairs and a Roberts radio.

The following rooms are on the second floor: Master bedroom: A stylish room in the eaves of the property with exposed beams and lovely views overlooking the village.

This room contains a super king size bed, a chest of drawers and a storage basket, plus hooks for hanging clothes and a Smart TV; Shower room: Contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Bi-fold doors in the kitchen/dining room open out onto a beautiful decking area which contains an outdoor table with seating for six guests, a parasol and a bench, as well as a charcoal barbecue and stylish yet handy wall hooks for muddy boots.

Three steps lead up to the stunning laid to lawn area and beyond this is a paved area which provides off-street parking for one car, with additional on-street parking available throughout the village.

Milton-Under-Wychwood is a village and civil parish in West Oxfordshire. The village has one pub called The Hare which is a gastropub. Wychwood public library is located in a converted shop. Local attractions are Foxholes Nature Reserve, Wychwood Wild Garden park and for those interested in outdoor activities The Wychwood Golf Club, all within a few miles of the village. For the art enthusiasts look to Tosley Museum housed in the early Tudor market building, famous for its doll’s houses and large photographic collections. Also nearby is the St Nicholas Church, which is the resting place of the designer of the Forth Rail Bridge, Sir Benjamin Baker. Little has survived of the Norman church except its ornate north doorway. Milton-Under-Wychwood is 4 miles north of Burford and 7 miles south of Chipping Norton.

Note: For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure.

Note: An initial basket of logs is provided for the woodburning stove between October and March and further log supplies can be purchased locally - please note that the logs in the snug are decorative and cannot be used for the woodburning stove.
