“We came on holiday with friends, and Anvil Cottage provided the perfect base for us.”

Effectively, we had two separate wings of the house for sleeping/bathing and plenty of space for dining and relaxing. We loved the woodburner and the kitchen was well-equipped. Our host made some recommendations for us that added to the overall enjoyment of our break. Perfect!

The property

Tucked away in the middle of this beautiful Cotswolds village Anvil Cottage is a little gem!

Hidden away, literally, the cottage enjoys a peaceful spot in Churchill, itself perched a short distance from Chipping Norton and Stow on the Wold.

Inside the property is a good size, very comfortable for four people, with two ensuite bedrooms upstairs and a welcoming living space and kitchen downstairs.

The living room is calming and cosy in equal measure with a traditional wood burning stove and doors to the garden; the kitchen is well and fully equipped but with such a superb pub across the road and others in surrounding villages, you may well decide to treat yourself again and again!

There's a conservatory overlooking the garden too, which itself has attractive cottage-style planting and matches beautifully the style of the property.

Beyond the garden is a fantastic playing field which has an enormous open space, cricket field and a small playground.

This is a lovely, homely cottage which is a perfect getaway in a lovely Cotswolds village.
