“An absolutely lovely cottage which has been thoughtfully designed and decorated to feel like a home from home.”

Hard to find fault with it. Situated in a terrific location which is both quiet but giving easy access to a number of popular and great Cotswolds villages and tourist attractions including Cotswold Wildlife Park, and a number of both privately owned and National Trust properties. Just perfect!

“Fantastic Cottage set in a great location.”

Design, layout and furnishings to a high standard. Three good pubs within reasonable walking distance and bus services to Witney and Burford close by. We have rebooked it again for next year as we enjoyed it so much.

“Lovely cottage for our family holiday, ideally located for access to the Cotswolds and Oxford whilst also offering plenty of amenities nearby.”

Kitchen contained everything we needed across the week, living space and bathroom are beautifully designed and decorated, downstairs shower was excellent. Low ceilings upstairs caught us out a few times; giants beware! Highly recommended and would stay again.

“Grooms Cottage was amazing in every way.”

Comfortable, spotlessly clean, but most of all it was like home. The owners have put so much thought in to the property to make your stay perfect, including the hamper of goods, fresh crusty bread, cotswold butter, yummy biscuits, chocolate, jams, milk and so much information in the Guest information book. Tracy the host was at hand to help us with Netflix nothing was too much bother a huge thank you. We highly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting the Cotswolds, its a hidden gem. Sykes is the only company I will ever book with so efficient at keeping you informed by email thank you also.

“Lovely cottage, positioned well for visiting the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire.”

A nice complementary basket of stuff for us on arrival. Spar shop and nice pub The White Hart in Minster Lovell, Asda and Morrisons in Carterton near Brize Norton. Burford Bampton, Clansfield and Witney nearvby. Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens Burford well worth a visit. For Oxford, a park n ride is just the ticket, forgive the pun. Really enjoyed our holiday.

“We’ve stayed in lots of holiday cottages but this one was something else !”

! Tracy had thought of everything , the welcome pack was the best we’ve ever had. The place was soooooo clean and smelled AMAZING !! The bedding was so soft and kept you cool even when it was sooo warm. You will miss out if you go passed this cottage . Would love to stay here again !

“Ideal base from which to have a long overdue meet with my son and family currently serving at Brize Norton ,so it was really only used overnight, but would not be our choice for a holiday.”

Accomodation was very clean , comfy and welcoming ,lovely welcome box but quite noisy in the mornings with cars driving along the gravel track past the property, and we felt overlooked by other properties. The owners have a lovely property here, just that we are used to a very rural home ourselves and I guess that we are not used to neighbours. Our holidays are often with Sykes and we have always been very pleased, just that this one is not for us. This is just feedback, with no critisism attached or intended.

“Although we booked this break well over a year ago then had to delay it because of the well known pandemic, we have been delighted with everything to do with Groom's Cottage and particularly with the reception from Stuart and Tracy.”

Stuart was pretty adept in providing us with a ramp for our wheelchair (he even covered it with artificial grass) Well done Stuart. The welcome pack that Tracy left for us really lived up to it's name, we are now sold on Cotswold butter ! Even though we were curtailed by lockdown measures around the local area we were able to really enjoy visiting attractions such as Minster Lovall Hall, Cogg's Farm and Blenheim Place, and returning to the comfort of Groom's Cottage was a real bonus. “Nothing was too much trouble.”

We arrived after a difficult time (probably true for everyone in 2020). We booked on the day of arrival and Tracy had put up a Christmas tree and provided a welcome pack with a homemade fabulous loaf of bread, Cotswold butter, a selection of miniature jam/marmalade. Biscuits, milk. Absolutely extraordinary. The cottage is very warm and cosy, beds are comfortable and during Covid the attention to detail in everything means you feel very safe. Procedures are in place to keep cottage a safe environment. Everything was in working order and excellent decor - relaxing and peaceful. Best cottage ever. Thank you all the extra steps were much appreciated.

Tracy was very welcoming and gave us some excellent tips on where to go. This was our first break since all the madness began and we weren't sure what to expect but there was no impact on our holiday whatsoever. The cottage was the best one we have stayed in as it was so well laid out and so very well equipped. Lots of 'how to' information too which has been lacking sometimes at other properties. Would very highly recommend Grooms Cottage to all!

“This is the best equipped cottage we have stayed in.”

The contemporary design blended well with its country feel. We loved our stay. We also loved how close we were to all the key areas of interest. We really enjoyed our time at Grooms Cottage, thank you. Just a couple of points to note, it was so well equipped there wasn’t an empty cupboard for the food and snacks we brought, we had to leave them on the worktop and the WIFI codes need updating in the welcome pack because it still points you to BT05. Loved our welcome gifts too!

“Grooms Cottage was a delightful place.”

Clean and lovely and warm. Our November break was cold with frost every morning but the place was toasty. Really convenient location, quiet but handy for Oxford and the rest of the Cotswolds. Burford is worth a visit and if you want a fabulous meal, try the Horse & Radish in Minster Lovell, what a treat that was.

“We were 4 adults and the small downstairs bedroom was adequate for 2 adults and none of us is small.”

We had a very relaxing long weekend stay at Grooms Cottage . We visited Cheltenham, Burford and Witney. The hosts Stuart and Tracy were very welcoming and the Goodie box was most appreciated. We also had the added bonus of meeting Archie and Red the resident horses. We most definitely would return to this cottage, it was easy to find with the instructions given. Also a great base for a visit to the Cotswolds.

The owner was on site and was very friendly and welcoming. The welcome pack which included fresh bread was much appreciated as was ample supplies of essentials such as toilet rolls. The location is ideal for exploring the Oxfordshire area/ East Cotswolds and Minster Lovell itself is an extremely nice village to stay in. The only very slight gripe we had was the Freeview channels could be a bit tricky with intermitent problems use which appeared to be due to signal loss.

Everything we could have needed was available. The cottage was immaculate throughout and the beds and towels were very comfortable. Stuart & Tracy were very friendly. All the small touches are so thoughtful from the welcome basket to the cotton wool & tissues in the bathroom, even rubber gloves in the kitchen!\ The bathroom is like having your own personnel spa and we love the soft lighting - perfect.\ The whole cottage is very welcoming and we will be back.\

“This is the most beautiful cottage I've ever stayed in!”

I stayed with my two children for a week and we were so impressed. Spotlessly clean and smelt wonderful! Beautiful ensuite to the upstairs bedroom and a lovely view of the horses and stables to wake to each morning. Tracy and Stuart made us feel so welcome and with all the luxuries of home this cottage is a must. Minster Lovell is a pretty little village and within great distance to all the attractions Oxford has to offer. We will most certainly be booking Grooms cottage again in the future. The property

The Old Groom's Cottage is an absolutely spotless cottage, one which is hidden away in a quiet location in the village of Minster Lovell.

Set down a private drive in the grounds of the owners' home, Groom's has been converted into a high quality holiday home that is spacious and very well kitted out.

Downstairs is an open plan space with a super-smart kitchen and very attractive living area that looks towards the garden area and stables in the distance.

There is also a bedroom with ensuite, ideal for children or those people preferring not to stay on the upper level.

Upstairs is a large, open bedroom, with great views of the countryside plus beautiful ensuite bathroom .The property is immaculate and very well cared for and perfect for families or couples.

As the property sits on a small-holding, there are some chickens plus other animals on site nearby which make it unique and interesting.

Nearby are some basic shops plus a few good local pubs, so if you decide to 'do nothing' while on holiday you can do that here very easily!!

Places such as Burford and the market town of Witney are both about 5-8 mins drive away, with a wide range of things to do and places to eat and relax.

MINSTER LOVELL

Witney 4 miles; Carterton 2 miles.

Minster Lovell is a village and civil parish in West Oxfordshire on the River Windrush. It is popular for its ruin Minster Lovell Hall, famed for allegedly being the place the ninth Lord Lovell’s remains were found in an underground room. It is often visited now for picnics by the river or long walks through the surrounding meadows, as well as the dovecote nearby. It has several local county inns, including The White Hart and the Old Swan which provide excellent food and real ale. There are public footpaths that cross the field to the parish church or across the river to a small weir where local children often go to swim. Nearby attractions include the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Kilkenny Lane Country Park, both within a short driving distance. Minster Lovell is located 4 miles west of Witney and 2 miles east of Carterton.
