“A lovely house, beautifullly furnished and decorated and very comfortable indeed.”

Very well equipped kitchen too with amble crockery, cutlery and a wide selection of glasses, dishes, utensils & accessories. Thank you for the unexpected welcome pack of milk, fruit juice, biscuits and crisps. The house is in the very heart of the town, a few minutes walk from good pubs and shops. Parking is only available on-street & the cottage entrance is on a double-yellow area; the town is very popular and busy in peak times & weekends & Witney Street was always full but we were able to find spaces in Pytt’s Lane and Swan Lane which wasn’t an issue. The house was ideal for us - 3 friends who live 200+ miles apart & enjoyed a great weekend get-together in this stunning Cotswold town property. Thank you!

“Wonderful setting in Burford.”

Bedrooms nicely appointed. Kitchen was useful. Proximity to pubs was important. But the key was the garden area where we enjoyed drinks and friendship. Would highly recommend!

“The Coach House location was perfect for our weekend away.”

“It was lovely to hear from Vicky the day before our arrival and checking we were settled in, made us feel welcome and that we could contact her if we needed anything.”

The house was gorgeous, quaint, lovingly furnished and had all the practical things we needed. It was in the best location for both the town, which had great independent shops, pubs and cafes, and a great base for visiting the wider Cotswolds areas. We will definitely return.

“Lovely house in the beautiful and convenient location of Burford.”

Homely and great facilities. Everything you could need. If you are lucky enough to use the master bedroom, the kingsize bed is heaven, so comfortable. Vicki, the owner, was always on hand for any questions and very responsive. Highly recommend a visit to Burton Garden Co, Stow on Wold and Bourton on Water which are all local. The Angel pub across the road does fantastic food.

“Excellent property but some minor faults e.”

G. bathroom door in top bedroom wouldn't close; the front door is not stopped by the door stop and has consequently dented the wall; no room for our bicycles in the shed.

“Lovely cosy cottage.”

Biscuits crisps, milk and orange juice very welcome touches. Communication & responses from Vicky excellent. Great location just off main street for exploring Burford and the wider the Cotswolds area. Street parking could be an issue at certain times but we quickly got used to available parking and free carpark close by.

“Good size house in a great location.”

Pictures do not however represent the current state of the property. - downstairs needs a deep clean. - all walls need a clean and a fresh coat of paint as they are either dirty or marked. - entrance mat is tired and dirty. - windows need cleaning, both inside and out. Particularly the living room patio doors. - broken drawers in the dining room with no handles to most of the drawers. - sign in the hallway asking you to remove shoes is broken. - painted dining chairs worn and look old with no cushions. - garden needs a tidy, sweep and weeding. - grass needs cutting. - would recommend some seat cushions for the outside chairs. - windows did not open in the top floor bedroom. - outhouse look a mess with old furniture and decorating equipment on display and like it had all just been ‘dumped’ in there. - bins at the side of the house were all full with rubbish, I was showered with flies when I opened them. None of them seemed to have been emptied for a few weeks. All of this is a shame as it is a lovely house. I’m not sure if the owner is aware of this via yourselves but the tiredness and disrepair of the property has not happened recently.

“A beautiful holiday home in a wonderful location.”

There are a few areas that may require a little tlc, including a very sticky sitting room door and minor cracks in walls (which we found we could easily close a blind eye to). This is a very warm and cosy cottage and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

“Beautiful house with plenty of space.”

Location outstanding, did feel that the lack of parking was a slight hindrance but I guess that's just part of living in an old town. Did feel that cleaning could be stepped up a little, corners of bathroom needed attention, dust on skirting boards. There was something about the living room that left 3 of us very stuffed up so perhaps a deep clean of rug/sofa/carpet is needed? Beds were comfortable, bedding was so lovely, house is charming. The gesture of essential supplies on welcome was nice. Kitchen had everything we needed. Garden space was lovely, real sun trap and peaceful.

“We loved our stay in this gorgeous cottage.”

It had everything we needed for a family holiday with 3 couples and a baby. The owner was very helpful and responsive in advance regarding a late checkout (these things take time with a baby!), changing a twin to a kingsize and providing a cot and highchair (and even toys) for the baby.

“A lovely, well-equipped and comfortable (super ensuite bedrooms with comfortable beds) cottage in the heart of Burford: perfect for 3 couples.”

Great communication with the owner, who is keen to check all is ok and that we had all we needed. The only slight difficulty we had was with parking; particularly as there was building work going on over the road and there were times when it was difficult to pull up near the property.

“We had a wonderful four night stay at the Coach House Burford, eveything we needed was there.”

It was so close to the shops & restaurants, the co-op was open till late which was a plus. Loved the quality of the bedding so much we have all purchased some on our return, ( good old M&S ). Good location we had a visit to Blenheim Palace, and Bourton-on -the-water is a very pretty village. Big thumbs up for this property, Thank you to the owner.

“We had a lovely week at The Coach House in Burford.”

The cottage is in a perfect location close to the High Street but quiet. As a family of 5, it was great to have two reception rooms, so that the adults could enjoy one space and the children the other. The cottage was very well equipped with good quality beds and bedding. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden area and having a drink at the end of the day. There is an abundance of great pubs, cafes, and niche shops (one that sells every type of brush you could ever want!) within walking distance of the cottage. Lots of places to visit nearby including the Wildlife Park (5 mins away) and Garden Centre (5 mins away). In all in, we had a great time and would love to come back sometime.

The ease of booking, communication from the owner and location of the cottage could not have been better. The cottage was beautiful, clean and well equipped, with a gorgeous garden and patio. “A lovely house in a beautiful Cotswold town.”

Quiet but conveniently located. The house is tastefully furnished, comfortable and well equipped. The garden is a secluded sun trap. The owners generously left some essential provisions. The only (very minor) issue was the apparent absence of a food waste caddy.

“The holiday cottage was lovely.”

Very comfortable. Very much a home away from home. I contacted the owner on 3 occasions and she was always extreamley helpful. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family. The cottage was generally well equipt. The only improvment I might suggest is having some pyrex dishes. I cook vegetables in the microwave and found this a problem as there were no suitable covered dishes.

“The Coach House in the heart of Burford proved the perfect setting for our family break in the Cotswolds.”

The facilties were excellent for a winter holiday and having three en-suite bathrooms was a real added bonus with no waiting around in the mornings. There is a problem with mobile phone coverage in the cottage but Whatsapp and emails were always available in an emergency and not having the phone ringing all the time turned out to be a real blessing! There are many good and reasonably priced restaurants within a short walk and we would heartily recommend this property.

“Cottage is close proximity to everything and comfortable stay.”

The only thing that we was not aware of was that the garden backs onto 2 pubs ? and on a day when we wanted to rest after being out all day the beer garden was busy and noise travels.- We should have known by the title "former coach house" The other thing to mention to the owner is that the lock on the gate needs sorting as when first entering the property you cannot unlock it?- many a visitor have had the issue but may not have reported it.

The cottage was immaculate inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked and all beds comfortable. Only thing to note is the on street parking can be a nightmare at weekends, but provided you don’t mind a little walk to the car it’s not a problem. Would definitely stay again.

“Had a fabulous weekend despite the inclement weather .”

Facilities in the property were more than we expected. Everything was just perfect ! It was very useful with the property being so close to essential amenities ( shops) . “The cottage was in excellent order and very clean.”

From the street it doesn’t look like the photo because it’s hidden in its own secluded garden behind a wooden door to the street, This means it is very private but right near the town. Burford is an ideal location for visiting the Cotswolds towns and is a pretty village too with some good pubs and restaurants. The owner was very helpful. I would highly recommend this cottage as one of the best we have stayed in.

All the Cotswold villages and attractions are within easy driving distance, as are Oxford, Blenheim Palace, and Bicester for shopping. Parking is easy in the village car park which is only a short stroll away but there are plenty of pubs and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The cottage itself was perfect for a reunion with its huge but cosy dining kitchen and 3 equally lovely double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms - no fighting over the best room! We loved our secret door from the road into the secluded walled garden - I'm sure it must be a real sun trap in summer. The owner, Vicky, has decorated and equipped the cottage with beautiful furnishings, top quality fittings and lots of thoughtful extras (we were very grateful for the umbrellas when the heavens opened!). We really couldn't have found anywhere more perfect.

The Coach House, Burford is a very special place indeed.

Having recently been lovingly restored by the owners, today this chic and sweet country cottage is the perfect place for a family or group of friends to enjoy in one of the Cotswolds most well known villages.

This inviting residence was historically the old coach house to the nearby pub and the owners have taken time to retain the period charm of the building whilst ensuring that they've provided a truly luxurious "home from home" for guests.

Downstairs the kitchen/diner is flooded with light from the roof lantern and the large windows offer a view over the sunny walled garden.

The handmade wooden kitchen is both a chef's delight and a sociable family-friendly environment.

The characterful Living Room with exposed beams, stone, fireplace, the fire in the living room is a realistic flame effect electric fire, this is a haven in which to relax.

Upstairs three good size bedrooms and three quality en suite bathrooms set this apart from many other similar size cottages.

Viewed from all of the cottage but hidden from the world beyond, there is a sunny, south facing walled garden and flagstone patio.

BURFORD

Swinbrook 2.4 miles; Little Barrington 3.5 miles; Minster Lovell 5.6 miles.

Burford is possibly one of, if not the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, it is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located midway between Oxford and Cheltenham, it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit. The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits! With little change over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and tea shops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudeley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all within ten miles.
