The property

Once a beautiful Bed & Breakfast settled at the heart of the village of Blockley, The Malins now offers a group of six a fantastic holiday home from which to explore this scenic area of Gloucestershire, sitting within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Walk down the lavender-lined pathway of the front lawned garden and step inside the hallway, kicking off your boots before discovering the comfort of the warming electric fire in the sitting room, offering a quirky array of furniture and equally as impressive decor on the walls, it makes a wonderful spot to spend your evenings.

Enjoy a quiet moment to yourself within the snug, overlooking the beauty of the front lawn, here you can delve into a good book or enjoy quality time with a loved one.

The dining room makes the perfect place for the whole group to gather, with ample seating for all, serve up your delicious homemade meals here when you're not out sampling the delicious eateries of the local area.

The kitchen provides a good range of utensil and appliances to make your culinary needs a breeze, as well as being equipped with a modest breakfast table for more casual dining moments in the morning.

Also resting on the ground floor is a convenient cloakroom with utility functions, housing both a washing machine and tumble dryer, this cottage has everything you could need for a self-catered stay.

Up on the first floor you will find the three well-presented bedrooms, made up of a twin, a double and a king-size, offering a flexible sleeping arrangement for a variety of group needs, as well as each room benefiting from its own television with Freeview and an en-suite shower room!

The property also offers a family bathroom, so you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub after a day of adventure before snuggling beneath the crisp white linens of the bed.

Spend your mornings relaxing on the private patio at the rear of the property, a lovely spot for alfresco dining in the summer months, before heading out on your fun-filled day.

There are plenty of wonders within the local area to discover, with Blockley once being famous for its silk and corn mills, there's plenty of rich history to uncover too, as well as the village offering two pubs, a café and a village shop, perfect for a self-catered stay at any time of the year.

Sitting within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can expect to find a plethora of walking and cycling routes all around you, with Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way and the Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all being situated within close reach, each boasting its own unique landscapes and beautiful nature along the way.

The National Trust wonder of Snowshill Manor and Garden is just a short drive away, with its gardens boasting both the Wolf’s Cove model village and the Priest’s House while internally you'll find Charles Wade’s eclectic collections of items he enjoyed, while the National Trust of Hidcote is worth visiting for its unusual Arts and Crafts garden, as well as its close proximity to the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the 16th-century birthplace of William Shakespeare, you can expect to find plenty of activities and attractions surrounding his lifetime, as well as much more history awaiting to be discovered.

Other attractions in the area include Broadway Tower, Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre, and the 102-mile long-distance footpath of the Cotswolds Way, while all of Banury, Cheltenham and Gloucester lie within easy reach too.

An ancient village once famous for its silk and corn mills, Blockley lies just 3 miles from Moreton-in-Marsh and features a unique collection of honey-coloured buildings with a pretty village green, two excellent pubs, serving hearty food and real ale, as well as a village store and café, serving dinner on a Friday night. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the village, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way and the Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Very close by, Moreton-in-Marsh boasts many elegant 18th century buildings and is home to traditional inns, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also offers its own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. The highest town in the Cotswolds, this ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham, boasting an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, as well as being famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within driving distance, making Blockley a great base for a Cotswolds holiday.
