“Rookery Hall is a stunning property, full of character & a nice short walk to the Broadway Tower.”

We have been to Broadway a few times & it’s well worth a visit as is Burford which is approximately 35 minute drive. So glad I spent my birthday at Rookery Hall & I was sad to leave after a week, it was lovely.

“The house is amazing but the setting wasn't what we expected.”

We discussed this with the owner but not much could be done once there. The garden wasn't private, situated between the owners and father's house and exposed anytime outside. No privacy screening shrubs, which could have made the side garden private instead of overlooking the owner's driveway.. As a working farm, there was lots of machinery noise and coming and goings of trucks, utes, atvs, JCB's, which meant is wasn't very peaceful. Didn't expect to have to share the driveway with the father Also didn't expect the clay shooting group of 10 plus to be in the garage adjacent for most of the day. As there is an interconnecting door into the main lounge, we were disturbed by all the noise most of the day. I think these things should be put into the listing so renters can make an informed choice about whether the situation suits them.

We appreciate your feedback, unfortunately the location of the property was obviously not what you were expecting!! We are a small working farm, we feel that there are minimal noise levels throughout the day. Sykes do state that the property is on a small working farm and a shared large driveway with family,also additional parking opposite the property if you do not wish to use the driveway. The clay shooting group had lunch in the garage next to Rookery Hall for approx 60 mins and returned at 3.30pm, everyone had departed by 4.pm. Property Owner

“Awesome accomodation.”

Massive dining/ lounge area and an equally huge kitchen. Under floor heating kept it comfy. Huge open fireplace. Four poster bed was big and comfortable, and there were no complaints from the kids in the single beds. Enjoyed saying hello to the sheep each day too.

“We had a lovely stay at Rookery Hall.”

The heating problem we had on arrival was swiftly sorted by the next day. A new boiler had been installed only days earlier, these things happen. Owners are on site and we’re very friendly & helpful. Very quiet spot and so handy for Broadway Tower with cafés etc just a short walk away. Our only suggestion is that a few rugs covering the stone floor in the bedroom would make the room more cosy. Other than that Rookery Hall was very spacious and well equipped with all we needed for a weeks stay. Thank you Ian & Debbie.

“An incredibly enjoyable 5 night stay at Rookery Hall!”

! If we could give it 10 stars, we would. A beautiful, grand building, hand-crafted by the owner of the farm (a professional builder), which is spacious, warm, extremely comfortable, full of character and richly appointed. Perfectly located in a private farm with views of sheep grazing in the paddocks and pheasants roaming freely, with easy access to all the Cotswolds towns - Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Norton, and the list just goes on!! And, to top it all off, our Hosts, Debbie and Ian, and their parents Chris and Diane, were delightful people who made us feel so very welcome (thank you!!). We cannot recommend Rookery Hall highly enough and we would not hesitate to book again in the future. We loved it!!

Our only criticism is we could not see the bird feeders from the kitchen so pretty good if that is the only negative. We would book again if we wished to holiday again in the area.

“Beautiful cottage in a lovely area.”

Had a relaxing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the well equipped cottage. (Made it very difficult to go back to my own house......... ). Beds fab and wonderfully comfortable, top notch bedding, towels etc. Shower and bath very high standard along with all the fittings. I particularly enjoyed the choice of pots in the kitchen. (If I was being really picky, it would be nice to have a soundbar on the tv as the sound quality was a bit iffy, and a grab bar in the showers would be helpful for us that aren't as mobile!) A wonderful stay in a fab cottage though, thankyou xx

“Myself & Hubby have just spent the most wonderful hot sunny week (9th-16th July 2022) at Rookery Hall hosted By Debbie & Ian.”

The accommodation was/is spectacular and has everything and more you could possibly wish for to make it a 5 star stay. The location was ideal for walk's with many places of interest to visit, Its on the Cotswold way with Broadway Tower, Snowshill Manor, Snowshill Lavender to name a few all just short walks away, and of course the so many beautiful villages to explore just short drives away makes it a wonderful base, or just stay and soak up the beautiful idyllic countryside and make the most of the peace & quiet. Debbie & Ian quite happy to leave you to your own devises for the duration of your stay but are also on hand if you do need anything. The thing that made our stay even more enjoyable was that fact that the property is part of a working farm (none of which interferes with your accommodation) it was lovely to see the hay making process, we got to know the family, their lovely working dogs & the history of the farm from talking to the nicest family you could wish to meet. We were sorry to leave but left feeling we had made some lovely friends and would definitely recommend Rookery Hall to anyone who enjoys a bit of the good life with a down to earth approach. We've stayed in many lovely cottages up & down the country over the years, as we always want to try somewhere new, but this place made us feel so welcome.
