The property

Nestled close to the centre of the charming market town of Ross-on-Wye, is this idyllic detached stone-fronted cottage, The Coach House.

Set over two floors and sleeping up to six guests, The Coach House is a homely and contemporary setting for your next adventure to the Herefordshire countryside, with the sites of Symonds Yat and Forest of Dean within easy reach.

As you approach the property through the beautiful grounds where the owner’s property is also set, you will find ample off-road parking conveniently located near the property, so carrying heavy bags isn’t too much of a chore!

Be welcomed into the spacious lounge, which still retains many of the Coach Houses original features, where you can look forward to cosying up on the emerald seating and enjoy a family film night in front of the warming woodburning stove.

Moving through to the modern kitchen/diner, which has everything you will need to prepare delicious home-cooked treats for your family, where you can settle down around the dining table to enjoy and toast to a wonderful holiday.

When sleep calls, you can retire to one of three bedrooms, the first of which is located on the ground-floor and is a spacious king-size, decorated in muted tones with a pop of colour, echoing the palette of the rest of the property.

Travelling up to the first floor, you will discover the two additional bedrooms, a tastefully decorated double and children’s bunk room, ensuring flexible sleeping arrangements for all the party.

Completing the first floor is a stylish bathroom, where you can pour in the bubbles and enjoy a long soak after a long day of exploring.

Enjoy your morning coffee at the lovely seating area in the front garden or enjoy a dip in the shared heated outdoor pool, for evenings, enjoy an evening under the stars in the hot tub.

Venture down to your local village and you will find an array of activities right on your doorstep, you can treat the family to a meal at the King Charles II pub or The Eagle Inn and relieve yourself of cooking duties for the evening, after you could take a leisurely stroll along the River Wye and soak up your beautiful natural surroundings.

Get to know your surroundings and take the short drive to the small village of Symonds Yat, where you hire a canoe to explore the waters of The River Wye, take the children into the tropical realms at the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo where they can meet exotic butterflies, or enjoy panoramic views of the countryside and Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at Symonds Yat The Pinnacle.

Nearby is the glorious National Forest, Forest of Dean, which is a site not to be missed, here you can hire a bike and explore one of the many cycle trails, take a high ropes course, paddle-board, canoe and kayak!

For rainy days at the forest, there are museums and caves to explore, as well as the exploring the depths of the forest on a delightful steam train!

If you can tear yourself away, the wonderful town of Monmouth is just a little further home to the Grade I listed, Monmouth Castle, the Georgian Shire Hall and its impressive 13th century gatehouse bridge, it is a town bathed in rich history stemming back to Henry V and Geoffrey of Monmouth.
