The property

Grange Cottage is a stunning Cotswold stone cottage, which enjoys an idyllic rural location, with spectacular views across a valley to the fantastic Woodchester Valley Vineyard, boasting a fantastic selection of wines grown on the sloping hills of the Cotswolds.

Most notably, you will be able to sample their stunning Sauvignon Blanc, which has been awarded a master medal at the Global Sauvignon Blanc Masters Awards in London 2022.

The cottage is on the edge of the village of Amberley, which although small, has two well regarded pubs.

Amberley backs onto the National Trust common land of Minchinhampton Common, a unique 600 acre open space with far reaching views, which offers walking, kite flying and an 18-hole golf course.

The larger towns of Nailsworth and Stroud are close by, offering a vibrant selection of restaurants, shops and award-winning farmers markets.

Grange Cottage is an ideal base for outdoor activities such as walking and cycling, as well as for exploring the wider Cotswolds region and further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford and even day trips into London. This 18th century weavers' cottage boasts beautiful rural views across the valley from many of the rooms and has an abundance of character features, including oak beams, window seats, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a cosy wood burning stove.

This traditional character is complemented by modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a SMART TV with DVD player, and a well-presented kitchen. Grange Cottage sleeps six people, in four bedrooms, with one bathroom and a ground floor cloakroom.

The main garden is at the front of the property, with a lawned area, mature shrubs and trees, and a patio area that is perfect for admiring the far reaching views and watching beautiful sunsets.

A driveway at the back of the cottage has parking space for up to two cars and there is a further parking space on the lane outside the cottage.

Grange Cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a rural break in the heart of the Cotswold countryside.

Grange Cottage is a large semi-detached Cotswold stone cottage, which sits on a steep slope at the top of a rural lane, and benefits from stunning views.

The front door opens into the conservatory, which leads through to a well laid out ground floor area: Conservatory: This room enjoys lovely views over the garden to Woodchester and beyond, and has two wicker chairs; Living room: From the conservatory, a step leads into the characterful living room, which has an exposed Cotswold stone fireplace with a wood burning stove, oak beams, and alcove shelving with a selection of local books.

There are two two-seater sofas, a small arm chair and a window seat that looks out over the valley.

There is also a SMART TV with a DVD player; Reading room: The living room adjoins this pretty room, which has French doors opening out to the garden.

There is a small writing bureau, two chairs and a hamper of games; Kitchen/dining room: Steps lead up from the living room to the kitchen, a spacious room with a wooden dining table and seating for six.

The well-equipped kitchen has a double electric oven, a six ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a hand blender; Utility room: A convenient space for boots and coats, which contains a washing machine/tumble dryer and a freezer; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and a wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first-floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with high ceilings and exposed oak beams, which contains a king size bed and fitted wardrobe, and has nice views of the woodland behind the cottage; Bedroom 2; This bright room enjoys a sunny aspect, with views across to the Woodchester Valley Vineyard, and contains a queen size bed; Bedroom 3: Contains a day bed, which is made up as a single bed.

The window seat is perfect for watching the sun set; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. Steep spiral stairs, without a handrail, lead up from the first floor landing to: Bedroom 4: Another lovely eaves room, with exposed beams and panoramic views over the Woodchester Valley Vineyard and beyond.

There is a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a free-standing flatscreen TV.

The door to this bedroom is at the bottom of the stairs and it is not possible to put a stair gate at the top of the stairs, so this room may not be suitable for young children. The main garden area is at the front of the cottage, enclosed by Cotswold stone walls, and is mostly laid to lawn, with traditionally planted cottage garden borders and a variety of mature shrubs and trees.

There is a patio area outside the conservatory, with an outdoor table and seating for six, which provides spectacular views across the valley to Woodchester and benefits from glorious sunsets.
