“We were very impressed with both the accommodation and the village of Sherston.”

The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of crockery, spices and a drawer of baking ingredients. We all agreed the beds were extremely comfortable. We contacted the owner twice about minor issues and he quickly responded and these were resolved. There are a few low door frames and upstairs wonky floors but our tall guests and elderly guest managed these successfully. There are a few low door frames and upstairs wonky floors but our tall guests and elderly guest managed these successfully. The village itself is a dream, the houses are built with beautiful Cotswold stone and have an interesting history. Across the road is a very well stocked Co-op (make sure to download the Yellow Co-op app for member offers) and the food was very fresh. Nearby is a pub/restaurant and coffee shop which were well used. Round the corner is a most excellent playing field with a great deal of play equipment for all ages. The 2 zip wires being a major plus. There are many walks starting from The Swan which are detailed in the comprehensive visitor information. We could have stayed another week! Thank you

About the location

MALMESBURY

Chippenham 11 miles; Cirencester 13 miles; Bath 23 miles; Tetbury 5 miles.

Dating back to the Iron Age and reputedly the oldest borough in England, the pretty market town of Malmesbury is located on a hilltop in the southern Cotswolds. Malmesbury is steeped in history and offers visitors over 400 listed buildings, a 15th century Market Cross, a ruined 7th century Benedictine abbey, an annual carnival and many independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs. Abbey House Gardens, home to 'The Naked Gardeners' can also be found in Malmesbury (Note: The gardeners are clothed during normal opening hours) and the annual Womad Music Festival is close by at Charlton Park. The area offers many country houses, including Rodmarton Manor and Gardens, and Chavenage House, a fine example of a Cotswold manor unchanged for 400 years. Just a short drive away is The Cotswold Water Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering 40 square miles and offering a wide range of activities, including boating, waterskiing, fishing, cycling, golf and horse riding, plus Bath, Cirencester and Tetbury are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Please be advised: This property is only suitable for a maximum of 8 guests including infants, due to the size and seating arrangements of the downstairs areas.
