The Packing House

The packing house is in a wonderful location, it is well stocked with all one needs, my criticism is that the cottage is quite dark, though this may be changed as while we were there Bill the owner had a company visit to measure for new windows all round, also the property is not disabled friendly, the shower floor gets very slippy when wet and there are no grab handles, Bill and Sue, the owners are wonderful people and even invited us to a party they had at the weekend (we didn't intrude).

I am sure that my criticisms can and will be addressed in a very short time, overall we enjoyed our time in the Packing House.

We had a lovely stay in beautiful surroundings.

What a wonderful little find The Packing House was.

Very nice little touch with the welcome pack from the owners. Very clean and comfortable accommodation and a beautiful walled garden to walk round ( we loved watching the robot lawn mowers), and lovely views. Ideally placed for N/T properties and plenty of nice pubs nearby. Upton upon Severn is nice. Overall we loved it, and the owners are really nice too! 10/10!

A very comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting.

The owners are so lovely letting guests use their amazing gardens with stunning views across to the Malvern Hills and the walled garden is an inspiration. The bread, milk and cookies were much appreciated. There are many interesting places to visit in the vicinity and I enjoyed a trip to Malvern theatre. I hope to visit again.

The Packing House is warm, spacious & well laid out with lots of storage so we had everything that we needed for a lovely week away!

The walled gardens are beautiful to walk around with views over the hills. For us, the location was idea for walking the Malvern Hills, enjoying our hobby of geocaching. Great Malvern, Upton-upon-Severn & Worcester are all worth a visit & are only a few miles away! Bill & Sue were great hosts, on hand if we needed them but left us to enjoy our holiday in peace. We would certainly return in the future!

Lovely and cosy cottage. Everything we needed. Close to the owners house, but not a problem. We are used to a super king size bed, so had to get used to the smaller and a lot harder bed, but just a personal preference. Had a great break, we thoroughly enjoyed the area.

A comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings.

We were made very welcome and a welcome pack of milk, bread and biscuits was a nice touch. The gardens were beautiful and nice to walk around at your leisure. The bed and seating in the cottage were good and the kitchen well stocked. There was only a small standard freezer in the fridge so not advisable to bring frozen food with you. We had a lovely, peaceful stay and would return.

This is the best cottage that I have stayed in and i really enjoyed myself.

It is very comfortable, well equipped and set in beautiful grounds. I loved walking around the walled garden and sitting in there with a book. I have had a lovely week and hope to return.

The property was spotlessly clean & very well equipped. The hosts are lovely people & could not do enough for us, & the 'extra' little touches were much appreciated.To have free access to the immaculate gardens was brilliant. All in all, a real holiday to remember.

We had a wonderful cozy stay at the Packing House.

The house had absolutely everything we needed—so comfortable and welcoming. The shower felt just like home, and the bed was equally relaxing. The setting is truly out of this world, with breathtaking views all around. We were greeted by Bill and Sue on arrival, who were incredibly friendly and helpful. They kindly left us some bread and milk, and let us know we were welcome to explore their grounds. The views are amazing, especially at sunset—perfect if you're into photography. I would thoroughly recommend this stunning house. A real hidden gem!

We went for a 3 night short break and wished we could have stayed longer A beautifully cosy accommodation with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, close to places to visit.

The owners were very warm and welcoming and available if we needed anything.....which we didnt as everything was, quite simply ,perfect. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of crockery and cooking utensils, the bathroom had an amazing shower, a lovely comfortable bed with plenty of storage space available, and the main room had a good size table to eat at and plenty of room to sit and be comfortable for the evening. I would certainly.recommend coming g here and would love to come back in the summer to see how the fantastic gardens look in full bloom.

My stay at the Packing House over the Christmas period was extremely enjoyable and felt like home from home … The hosts were incredibly accommodating and every resource available for your comfort creating a warm and amazing ambience for relaxation and healthy wellbeing .

I would definitely stay here again and certainly refer the hosts 150 per cent and their first class accommodation to anyone looking for a warm space in a calm and peaceful setting in beautiful countryside .

Great place to spend a few days.

It was a lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy the main house is just across the driveway if you need anything.

It is about a 5 minute drive away from the village, plenty of places to eat and drink, it is a very quiet place to rest and relax. It has beautiful gardens to sit or walk around plus you have the Malvern Hills just up the road as well all in all my wife and I really enjoyed our stay.

Well equipped, warm and cosy. Bathroom not the most spacious but a minor detail tbh and we managed fine. Nice walk in shower. Hosts lovely and very helpful. Had a little trouble finding the property initially but that was probably my own fault for not reading directions properly or checking it out on Google streetview! Nice welcome pack. The Packing House is a delightful cottage providing everything you would need to explore the Malvern Hills, Worcester and the other local towns and cities.

Our hosts provided everything we needed, including a welcome pack, and were a fund of ideas for things to do and places to visit. Their friendly welcome made our short stay a most enjoyable one. We highly recommend this property.

We found the Packing House to be ideal little cottage which provided everything we needed.

The bed was very comfortable and the lounge was very homely. An ideal place for a couple wanting to explore the Malverns and surrounding area. We were greeting by our host who couldn’t have been more helpful, also a welcome pas l of milk, biscuits and bread were provided. When we left we we were given a tea towel with a print of the cottage on it. Lovely touch

A beautiful lovely very secure cosy cottage with absolutely stunning surroundings.

Well equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom with soft water that makes your skin feel very silky. The Gardens are absolutely beautiful, with views of the Malvern Hills. In close driving proximity to the Malvern Hills and Upton Village.

Having holidayed at the Packing House several timesnow, it never changes it is always clean and comfortable.

Bill and Sue the owners are really freindly and helpful and there is always a welcome pack on arrival. The area also has plenty of places to visit. We shall hopsfully return later in the year.

As reported to your office by phone the morning after we arrived (04/11/23) the property is not as described.

The bath has been removed and replaced with a shower unit. We only book and stay at accommodation with a bath as my partner cannot shower due to a skin condition, so would not have booked had the details been correct. Today, 12/11/23, which is over a week later, I note that the details have still not been updated on your website. The owners appeared concerned and offered use of a private bathroom in their own home, but my partner felt uncomfortable about such an arrangement. As it was just the one week she chose to see it through, trying not to let the discomfort spoil our break and managing as best she could.

A lovely cottage very comfortable and warm.

Excellent for a couple. Well situated for Sightseeing in the area. Great Malvern only a short drive away. Lovely Owners, Bill and Sue, very accommodating. Gardens even in October beautiful, would be magnificent in the summer months. Will certainly put this cottage on our want to return list.

The Packing House is a great, cosy, well maintained place to stay.

It is well placed for exploring the Malverns and the surrounding areas. Bill and Sue are excellent hosts and allowed us to use their lovely gardens.

When we eventually found the property we were given a warm welcome from Bill and Sue who were wonderful hosts.

The property itself was finished to a high spec. The bathroom is now a walk in shower, ideal for the more mature person. We were able to walk round the owners gardens which were breathtaking with views out to the malvern hills. Kitchen was well up to date and even had a washing machine. Comfy furniture and bed. Ideal for exploring Worcester, malvern, Ledbury gloucester and many more. Upton upon severn 3 miles down road. Directions were very misleading. I travelled from North and came off at j7 M5. That meant going through outskirts of Worcester took half hour. My advice is travel to j8 M5. This means take Worcester Upton road. 2 minutes to Upton, over bridge .Right at rounderbout to hanley castle. Follow road through hanley castle, you will pass a parking lay-by on left. 200 yards on left on brow of sweeping left hand bend is the entrance with large iron gates. But we'll worth the travel.

We had an outstanding holiday, Sue and Bill were very welcoming and sociable.

We were given full access to relax at our leisure in their fantastic walled garden and grounds. Close to the Malvern hills and many national trust properties.

Does say shower over bath but it now has a large walk in shower. which was brilliant .Very central for getting about, would go back.

Beautiful walled garden is accessed across a shared courtyard. Loads of things to do area so you can be as busy or relaxed as you want. Highly recommended.

We were warmly welcomed by Sue and Bill, who had provided bread, milk and oatcakes for us.

There was everything we needed for a great stay, plus their gardens which are beautiful were open to us and we had lovely evening and early morning walks. We could not fault anything.

I was a little dubious at first as the property is in the grounds of the owner's residence however, I really did not need to be. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. The property is perfectly located for access to the malvern hills and nearby Cotswolds. Great stay.

The owners of The Packing House were nice, welcoming, and helpful.

The cottage was clean, cosy, everything we needed was provided, and we receive a lovely welcome pack on arrival. The only reason we would not come back, was the bed. It was the hardest bed and unfortunately caused me sleepless nights. I had to lay on the sofa. Not ideal. If holiday property owners provided a hard bed which some people prefer, I think a memory foam mattress topper could be provided. Not expensive and can be rolled up. People then have a choice. Sleep is most important for a holiday. I was tired the whole stay Everything else was perfect. This was most unfortunate.

The generosity of the owners sharing the walled garden and the grounds was a wonderful bonus. I took my coffee out to the swing bench and walked in the Paddock and beyond with views of the Malvern hills. A real tonic for the spirit. A place for creative rest, peace and quiet. Bread and milk and the jar of cookies was a lovely welcome treat! Adjustable temperature for the bath well planned. I look forward to returning some time soon.

Excellent cottage, lovely homely comfortable welcome.

Being able to spend time in the magnificent walled garden was just bliss.

Sue and Bill were excellent hosts being very friendly, helpful and informative.

The welcome pack of fresh local bread, luxury biscuits and milk was very much appreciated. We were initially disappointed with the size of the cottage, the bathroom being very narrow and the kitchen comfortable with one person. However, the cottage was extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated. Generally we were only in the cottage in the evenings as out everyday exploring the area. For us the surprise delight was the magnificent walled garden, that would rival any N.T. property! It was huge with well stocked flower beds , a fish pond in the middle with several arbours over the pathways. We enjoyed taking our morning coffee there daily, sitting in the sun and having a stroll around before heading off for the day. The cottage is well located, being close to Malvern. We enjoyed driving and walking around the many villages admiring the the countryside and architecture of a bygone age with wonderful black and white homes. Lots of nearby towns to explore such as Ross on Wye, Tewkesbury, Ludlow, Worcester to name but a few. We were so lucky with to have a week of good weather, making it a most enjoyable holiday.

A very enjoyable stay in The Packing House.

Bill & Sue made us very welcome - especially with the welcome pack! Having access to their walled garden is a big bonus and the history of the garden and house is a fascinating insight into how life was lived some years ago. The Malvern area has lots to offer with regards to places to eat/visit with the Cotswolds just on the doorstep as well. We can thoroughly recommend the Packing House as an ideal base for couples wishing to base themselves here.

This was our second visit.

It will be our last. Vastly gone downhill. Not clean. Very disappointed. The pictures bear little resemblance to how we found it. Plants very overgrown at the front so we couldn't see out of or open the windows and building stuff all around the back. Looks neglected now, no nice walk around the ground like last time.

We had another lovely relaxed holiday.

The accommodation was as always very clean and comfortable. A nice touch by the owners was the milk, tea bags, biscuits these were much appreciated. It is also a good place to see the Worcestershire area, such as Upton -on-Severn, Malvern and Pershore to name but a few. We will be returning for another holiday in the future.

What a perfect base for exploring the Malverns.

The owners Bill and Sue are absolutely charming, they'd attended to every detail (including lovely cookies and fresh bread) and provided a very warm welcome. The entrance from the road is easy to miss so be sure to follow the pre-arrival instructions. The grounds and gardens are superb as are the views. Cosy, quiet and very comfortable is perhaps the best way to describe the property and we hope to make a return visit.

A lovely cottage in a good location.

A welcome pack on arrival which included milk bread and even some butter. All appreciated. Lots of lovely towns and villages to visit plus many national trust properties nearby. Would recommend to anyone who likes peace and quiet but likes to have the choice of going out if they wish. You have the use of the owners beautiful garden but some people may not like not having a garden of their own...there is an area with a barbecue and picnic bench for your own use at the back of the bungalow. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

A very enjoyable stay at the Packing House.

Bill and Sue were great hosts, always on hand with advice and recommendations. A charming cosy and spotlessly clean cottage set in the grounds of the owners property. The Gardens were beautiful, all down to Bill and Sue's hard work. The weather during our 14 day stay, appalling !! I'm sure it rained most days, or parts thereof, but we still found plenty of things to keep ourselves occupied. The only negative for me, The bed was a little on the hard side. Overall. A Lovely cottage. with lovely Hosts. Would recommend this very cosy bolthole.

An ideal location for visiting the RHS Flower Show in Malvern and for walking the Malvern hills.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and have worked very hard to create a beautiful walled garden which guests are welcome to use. A perfect hideaway for two people.

Fantastic, relaxing week at The Packing House.

Never been to the area before but would definitely return to this property, just to 'chill'. Hubby missed a dishwasher and tumble drier but the facilities that WERE there were great, especially smart TV. Didn't need to unpack my DABs or fan heater as these were provided. Nice welcome pack with gorgeous local bread. Very peaceful.

The cottage was absolutely perfect, we felt comfortable, at home and relaxed immediately.

The interior was everything we could have wished for and the setting and grounds were beautiful even in the middle of winter. We went for a quiet, peaceful Christmas break and that is exactly what we got. The welcome and hospitality from Sue and Bill was superb and we would recommend The Packing House to anyone. we hope to stay again for longer in the summer.

Just got back from this wonderful cottage, we really enjoyed staying here, its cosy and clean the bed was so comfortable .

The owner's were so kind they supplied a very generous welcome pack they let us use their fantastic walled garden whenever we liked, the surrounding areas are beautiful,lots of quaint villages nearby and quite a few National Trust properties too we didn't want the holiday to end and can't wait to return next year.

I was really pleased with the cottage apart from the creaky bed.

was disappointed.the so called private area was a walk from the cottage not a private garden as stated. Also the out look from this area was not nice it had gas bottles and bits of wood.Very clean and the cottage was well equipped and cosy well worth a visit.

We have holidayed many times with Sykes Cottages.

We know that everything will be top class and The Packing House was no exception. The owners were welcoming and the accomodation was very comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing break. The invitation to make use of the the owners extensive gardens was an added bonus. We would certainly consider returning to this perfect little holiday home.
