Derek “Very cosy cottage easy walking distance from the lovely Broadway multiple other towns within easy reach .”
The only downer for us was storm Darragh caused the Christmas markets to be cancelled and lots of roads had trees down but with Broadway on our doorstep we had a fabulous time.

Anne “Although the cottage was comfortable and in an excellent location it felt very tired and unloved.”
There was black mould in the ensuite shower and on the shower head. Towels were too small Lamp in front bedroom not working Curtains upstairs and downstairs didn't close properly Only one key in the key safe - no key for the garage Only one hairdryer which after one use had to cool down before it could be reused. Also looked in a poor condition We found a stained mug and stained cushion on one of the kitchen chairs Dishwasher required salt and rinse aid No hooks for coats downstairs Bottom lock on backdoor seemed faulty Extra touches like providing tissues and extra toilet paper would enhance visitors' stay
- Anne, November 2024Sorry to hear that you weren't 100% happy with things at April Cottage. As you can see from many previous reviews, and the overall score for the cottage, standards are usually much higher than this, so apologies if we have fallen short on this occasion. We would like to point out that if you had contacted us during your stay then we would have happily rectified any issues. We would also like to mention the following... - there is no key for the garage, as per guest instructions. - there are spare bulbs left in one of the kitchen cupboards for guests use. - there is dishwasher salt and rinse aid also left in one of the kitchen cupboards (same one as above), again, for guests use. We are surprised that the lack of coat hooks was a problem, but we will of course look into this. The Housekeeping Team. Property Owner
William “My wife and I stayed here, its lovely and clean through out, the owners have done an excellent job in refurbishment, I am a blue badge holder so walking from the allocated parking space was short and easy, God will we will return her again.”

- William, July 2024Wendy “This was our second visit and the cottage is just perfect for our needs.”
Our intention is to return next year. Some updated garden furniture would enable us to fully enjoy the garden which is a perfect, secure space for the dogs.
- Wendy, June 2024Thanks for your feedback and all garden furniture has been replaced with new furniture ready for your next visit. Property Owner
Sandra “Fantastic holiday first time ever i did not want to go home.”
absolutely wonderful
- Sandra, June 2024Paul “Property was not so lovely as listed on the foto's.”
(Especially the living room) Kitchen was not clean and there was an nasty smell.( Maybe the hood?) Beds were good but small. We slept separately and that was okay. Location is really wonderfull nearby the city center!
- Paul, September 2023Thank you for your feedback and apologies that you felt the cottage didn't live up to expectations. It has come to light since your stay that the waste pipe from the dishwasher was leaking and so this would explain the smell in the kitchen, this has now been repaired. We would like to point out that the beds are 1 x king size and 1 x double as is stated in the listing, and the photos are recently done and so are an accurate reflection of the cottage. As you will see from countless other reviews, cleaning standards are very high, however, we will of course look into your comments re the kitchen. Property Owner
Michael “The cottage was perfect, excellent location being only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Broadway and in a great location for road access to many large towns.”
The cottage is beautiful kept and is a charming place to be for a relaxing holiday. The garden was ideal as we took our small dog perfect and secure, we also loved the roof terrace which is perfect for lovely evening relaxing. We will visit again and would highly recommend Mike O'sullivan
- Michael, July 2023Wendy “We were very nervous taking 2 dogs on holiday but the cottage and garden were wonderful, the garden being a dogs adventure playground especially in the heat.”
The proximity of off lead walking very welcome. It was a lovely cottage to relax and unwind. A blind in the kitchen would make a welcome addition. We would love to return next year as a fun time was had by all.
- Wendy, June 2023Cheryl “We really enjoyed our holiday in this cottage which was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a homely vacation.”
The location was excellent as were all the nearby restaurants, cafes and lovely independent shops. Beautiful walks can be accessed from the doorstep too. We had gorgeous weather, so spent lots of time in the pretty garden listening to the birds sing.
- Cheryl, May 2023Iolanda “Lovely cosy cottage in central location with private parking nearby.”
Garden great for dogs. Safe and enclosed. Added bonus of lovely roof terrace. Comfy beds. Warm and cosy. Would come again. THANKYOU x
- Iolanda, April 2023Lisa “What an amazing place to stay!”
The cottage is in a quiet location yet only a couple of minutes walk to Broadway high street with fantastic shops and dog friendly pubs. April cottage is lovingly furnished by the owners and had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs rooms are larger than they look in the photos and the garden is beautiful. The bedrooms are well thought out and my son and his wife loved the roof terrace. My husband and I had the smaller room with ensuite and found it perfectly adequate in size and the bed was very comfortable. Having a garage and parking space close by was a real bonus and being able to load/unload outside the house was very handy. All in all a fantastic holiday cottage and I can't wait to go back!
- Lisa, April 2023Julie “Lovely cottage, well equipped, beautiful garden, would love to visit in the spring or summer.”
Great location and parking a bonus.
- Julie, December 2022Pam “Very comfortable cottage, convenient location, garden seemed a bit neglected, parking just across the road, not far to walk to the car park.”
We had no issues parking the car there. The only thing against it was it was a bit lacking in the towel, toilet roll and welcome pack front, extra towels were provided when asked. I personally would expect 3 towels per guest, A packet of biscuits and a pint Milk is worst welcome pack we have ever had. Other than that we had a nice stay.
- Pam, September 2022I am sorry about this but our welcome pack is normally far more substantive than the one you received and i will certainly follow up on this. Thank you for letting me know and apologies once again. Property Owner
Alison “Lovely cottage in a fantastic location.”
Everything we could want in the cottage and enclosed garden for the dog was ideal. Broadway itself is lovely, good shops and pubs/restaurants within walking distance. Also good walking for the dog. If there in July would recommend a visit to the Cotswolds Lavender fields, really relaxing.
- Alison, July 2022Ray “Overall very good, decent situation in a lovely village.”
Parking issue was well highlit in the details, so no surprise, but knocks the overall "would you recommend" score - for dog owners its not too convenient. Otherwise, two fixable minor problems; 1. Found a washing line and pegs, but couldn't see where to fix the line in the garden. Worth explaining, or removing line. 2. Gate into next door wouldn't bolt properly.
- Ray, May 2022Sharon “Ideal location lovely cottage very pleased”
- Sharon, April 2022Sue “A lovely cosy stay at April Cottage.”
Very comfortable, warm and welcoming. Kitchen facilities good. Larger bath sheets would be a nice 4* touch. As someone previously has said - the garage is V small (I have a mini and it was tight!) however it’s nice and handy just over the road. Quiet area so we all slept well, comfy beds and good quality linen. Great shops and walks from the cottage. A beautiful place to explore. We would definitely return.
- Sue, January 2022Thanks for your feedback, lovely to hear you enjoyed the property. We do appreciate the garage is a little tight for certain cars but of course there is the free parking space as well that can be used. Thanks again! Property Owner
John “Some maintenance items need to be dealt with.”
Garage parking is not suitable for large cars. Some kitchen implements were missing.
- John, January 2022Jon and Mandy “Lovely cottage in beautiful location.”
We would definitely stay again
- Jon and Mandy, January 2022Christopher “Lovely location, very comfortable and cosy cottage.”
Coffee machine didn’t work!
- Christopher, December 2021Apologies regarding the coffee machine. A new one has now been installed. Property Owner
Richard “Property was exactly as described, key collection and procedures very simple, great place to stay”
- Richard, November 2021Rachael “The cottage was lovely and perfectly situated to explore Broadway and the surrounding villages.”
It was spacious and clean, and has a lovely long garden great for the dog. Beds were comfy and we made good use of the lovely fire. The listing states the property has Sky TV but that wasn’t the case and the main oven also didn’t work - we were able to use the small side oven so not a massive issue. Overall we had a lovely 5 nights at April Cottage and would definitely recommend.
- Rachael, November 2021Peter “Very comfortable cottage, only a 5 minute stroll from the centre of Broadway and its shops and restaurants.”
The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. Plenty of good walks straight from the front door - especially Broadway Tower (pick a clear day). And the steam railway can be used for walks further afield.
- Peter, October 2021Robert “The second en-suite bedroom is very small with limited clothes space so might not suit some people.”
As we were aware of that this is not a complaint.
- Robert, August 2021Kerris “A lovely cosy cottage in a fantastic location”
- Kerris, June 2021M “Lovely cottage ina great location”
- M, February 2020Gordon “Very relaxing break and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable.”
Ideal for the dog as well with the enclosed garden.Ideally located just outside of the high street and car parking was a bonus
- Gordon, February 2020Kath “Lovely place to stay however the few steps from the bedroom to the bathroom ...”
Lovely place to stay however the few steps from the bedroom to the bathroom could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues
- Kath, October 2019Mandy “Beautiful cottage in a picturesque setting, will definitely return.”
- Mandy, September 2019Maria “A wonderful cottage in a fantastic location.”
The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and the parking was really useful.
- Maria, August 2019Geoffrey “Great location”
- Geoffrey, June 2019David “A great holiday cottage in a lovely central location in Broadway, fabulous sunny garden and beautifully clean.”
A great place to relax and chill out. Thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay here would certainly recommend it, great walking locally in all directions we didn't need to use the car daily. Useful free car parking and garage available opposite the cottage in the small car park, and with a very short stroll to many local pubs, hotels and eateries in Broadway. A beautiful place to stay in.
- David, May 2019Colin “Excellent cottage , good to see a dog friendly cottage that is also to a high standard.”
Great location, would definitely consider returning in the future.
- Colin, April 2019Jeanne “We are both disabled and.”
Parking was a walk away from cottage which was a big problem for two 87 year.old ladies. The main bedroom and en suite were miniscule. Thin curtains and Sun streamed through at crack of dawn.
- Jeanne, April 2019Linda “We had a couple of problems, rang the owner and it was dealt with.”
Unfortunately as it was a repair couldn't be done immediately but for us did not detract from our enjoyment. A better presented visitors book. Flowers and packet cake left, milk could be more helpful for some, we had taken provisions so not a problem. Garden needs tidying and no bread to be left out as brings many large noisy birds.
- Linda, April 2019Colin “April cottage was lovely and situated so near to the main road and shops and places to eat.”
We were concerned about parking as this was described as 'being opposite the cottage under the archway' when in fact it was down the road opposite, under the archway and left turn into public carpark where there was an allocated space and garage. You cannot see the car park from the cottage. My husband is disabled and has a scooter which dismantles to fit in car so this added to problems but we managed to fit it in front room at cottage to avoid him walking to and from car park. in spite of this we would certainly go to April cottage again.
- Colin, March 2019Thank you for your feedback, I am pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Regarding the car parking, I'm sorry you did not find it as convenient as you had hoped, it is as described in the listing 'directly opposite the cottage under the archway' which is a walk of around 150m from the door of the cottage to the allocated garage and parking space which are in the public car park opposite. I am pleased the car park cannot be seen from the cottage as this would detract from the setting of the row of cottages which April Cottage forms part. You can also load and unload on the road outside the cottage whenever you wish to so the scooter could have been unloaded and loaded into the car as required. Again, apologies if you found the parking difficult but thank you for your comments. We look forward to seeing you again hopefully. Property Owner
Ian “Lovely cottage in a great location.”
Comfortable throughout and well equipped. The perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds.
- Ian, November 2018Julie “April Cottage is a delightful property.”
There are many thoughtful touches which add to the feeling of it being a home rather than a rental property. It is situated close to the high street in Broadway and there is so much to do and see in this beautiful area.
- Julie, September 2018Brian “Lovely cottage in and out in an excellent location.”
- Brian, August 2018Sarah “I had a lovely stay at April Cottage with my dog , Henry .”
It is a great place to stay , very homely & everything I needed to make it a very enjoyable holiday & a nice big garden for my dog . It is conveniently situated , being just a few minutes walk from Broadway high street , which has an abundance of places to eat & lovely shops to look in . There were also plenty of good walks right on the doorstep. I would highly recommend April Cottage & the owner was very helpful , even going to the trouble of buying a garden parasol & fan for indoors as I went in the middle of a heatwave !
- Sarah, June 2018Paul “Good location, liked the fully enclosed garden for the dogs, comfortable beds”
- Paul, June 2018Tony “The holiday cottage was lovely and a great position and location for the high street and shops etc we did enjoy our stay at the cottage very much, and enjoy its location and garden However the parking for the cottage was not problem for us during our stay, but it was not a secure location when parked in a public car park in front of the garages.”
This also meant being parked for unloading and loading the car on the double yellow lines, and it being main road leading into Broadway. we had a good week and enjoyed the cottage and weather
- Tony, June 2018Susan “April Cottage was the ideal place for our holiday.”
Great location, very comfortable cottage with all mod cons. Lovely garden to sit out in during our good weather and very efficient heating when it turned chilly. Easy walking into Broadway for shopping or eating. Although the car parking wasn't ideal, the designated spot in the nearby public car park worked satisfactorily, and we were able to load/unload luggage at the start and end of our stay in front of the cottage which made it a bit easier.
- Susan, May 2018David “Very comfortable cottage, log fire was especially appreciated in the snowy weather.”
Located close to Broadway facilities. Also good walks from the front door.
- David, March 2018Steve “Felt homely and a great position close to Broadway centre and for touring area.”
