Anne Hathaway’s Cottage
Cottage Lane, Shottery, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 9HH
Don’t be mistaken for the Hollywood superstar Anne Hathaway.
The Hathaway we are talking about is the wife of William Shakespeare.
In the 15th century, the cottage was home to the Hathaway family. And they stayed up until 1892.
Now the cottage is open to the public and is now part of the Birthplace Trust.
Around the cottage, you can enjoy flowery cottage gardens, a sculpture trail and much more. It is the perfect opportunity to teach children about the importance of William Shakespeare.

Mary Arden’s Farm

Mary Arden’s Farm is the childhood home of Shakespeare’s mother.
Largely unchanged, the farm is now part of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. You can still see some of the features of the original house.
