The Lion is a family and dog-friendly pub in the ancient Saxon town of Winchcombe, on the famous Cotswold Way. Sudeley Castle is a great day trip and there are lots of walks and cycling routes for all abilities from Winchcombe. If you have brought babysitters with you, try Winchcombe’s Michelin starred restaurant, 5 North Street.

The Swan, Broadway

This is a laid-back family-friendly pub sat on the High Street running through Broadway and is perfect after a day of fresh air at Broadway Tower country park, the second-highest point in the Cotswolds! The Swan sits on a village green that’s nice for a kick-about or stroll and the village is one of the prettiest in the Cotswolds. Nearby, Snowshill Manor and Garden is a great day trip for children, who will love to feel like giants when peering down on Wolf’s Cove, a miniature village.

The Bell, Sapperton

The Bell at Sapperton sits between the towns of Stroud and Cirencester and holds several national as well as local awards for dining as hospitality.

It’s a lovely dog-friendly pub in the sleepy village of Sapperton and is the place to dine with the family, especially when the sun is out. Their Sunday lunches are particularly popular as is their Sunday family feast menu, at £35 pp for a three-course meal. They have a Garden Room that can be hired for up to 14 diners. And new for this summer you can book a private BBQ party on their garden terrace at the front of the pub.

The Talbot, Stow-on-the-Wold

An iconic pub on the main square in Stow-on-the-Wold that is now under new management, serving great lunches in a large open space that is relaxing for large groups and families. Stow is one of the most popular towns in the Cotswolds and wandering around the narrow alleyways, galleries, antique shops and a very unique cricket museum that little budding batsmen and women will love is a perfect day out in the Cotswolds. Finishing off in The Talbot to enjoy a coffee and chat on a comfy sofa is simply bliss.

The Kings Head Inn, Bledington

Just over 7-miles outside of Bourton-on-the-Water, The Kings Head Inn, is an elegant looking 16^th century pub with an enviable location, on a Bledington village green.

Over the summer months, The Kings Head pub opens a Cotswold Shepherd’s Hut converted into a beautiful ice cream shop on the village green, just outside the pub. There’s a playpark on the village green too that is suitable for babies and older children.

Inside, there’s a delicious children’s menu or the kitchen will accommodate giving you the option to choose a smaller version of anything from the menu for your little ones. So, if they fancy trying the superb beef burger, sourced from the local Bledington beef farm, then why not. The Kings Head also do a sharing roast platter, which you carve at the table and is great for a family meal.

This is one of the most child-friendly pubs in the Cotswolds and in the summer it is a particularly great location as there’s a lovely welcome from the ducks on the village green.
