Bullens Bank Cottage - Wow! Every now and then we are lucky enough to see a cottage which takes our breath away. We believe that this is one of the most spectacularly located cottages we have EVER seen. It is simply amazing. Situated high up on a hillside with the most glorious views of the Wye Valley imagineable, this fabulous holiday cottage is everything - a secluded, low cost bolt hole should be, namely welcoming, traditional, well equipped and thoroughly cosy that it is quite hard to imagine leaving! The cottage is approximately 200 years old and retains many period features as you would expect including thick stone walls and low beams. Locally the area is understandably excellent for walking with highlights such as the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park nearby. Hay-on-Wye, the second hand book centre of the world is 3 miles to the west, well supplied with eating-places. In our opinion this cottage is astonishing for its view alone but also offers great value for money.
Bullen’s Bank Cottage and Llangain are good for small parties as well as large parties.

Important Note: the property is reached via a steep stone track which is not suitable for 'low-profile' cars.
Swimming and canoeing on the Wye are excellent and pony trekking is available from several centres near Hay and in the Llanthony Valley. Windsurfing, sailing and boating are available at Llangorse Lake. The Black Mountains Gliding Club is near Talgarth and there are microlights at Shobden Airfield. There are parascending courses on Hay Bluff too. Those who prefer not to drive up the steep track to the property can easily park off the road at the bottom though we have recently had quite a lot of work done on the track.
